Small business meets academic study: tips from the 'coal face' of entrepreneurship to complement your teaching

At Perspex we delight in seeing young people make the best use of their talent. Their enthusiasm and fresh perspective on the world is something we find refreshing. We often work alongside universities and colleges to support their efforts to encourage enterprise amongst their students, whether as part of a business start-up scheme, business studies programme or a one-off event such as a 'Dragon's Den' type exercise.

What we bring as experienced small business mentors is a unique insight into the world of business through the eyes of an entrepreneur. Our mentors work with small businesses who manage daily challenges like how to do effective marketing on a shoestring, how to deal with difficult suppliers or late payers, how to build brand awareness and attract new customers, how to look after their customers and grow their business at the same time. Needless to say they have some great practical advice to share.

Bespoke training can be developed around your teaching syllabus, and our mentors can be booked as guest lecturers for e.g. MBA programmes, business studies units or evening talks.

Courses and workshops	Enterprise course for students - £60 per person Delivered in 2-hour learning slots over six weeks, this course is for small groups and covers business basics such as marketing, budgeting, systems and processes and setting prices.     Women in business - £60 per person This course is for small groups, to look at what it's like to be a female entrepreneur in the world of business.
